Children's Djembe Drums
There is a saying by the Bamana people in Mali, "Anke dje, anke be". This translates in English as “everyone gather together”. From experience, that is exactly what kind of energy is released when a djembe is played – a communal energy.
As a result of the goblet shape and density of the wood, there is a wide range of tones that can be produced by the djembe. A deep bass tone is produced by hitting the direct center, while an open hand “slap” creates a high sharp tone. The greatest thing about a djembe is how easy it is to master the instrument. Fresh out of the box, an inexperienced player can lay down a beat with ease. Our child-sized djembes offer both quality and tonal precision in a mini package.
