Choroi Pentatonic Flutes are characterized by a warm, light, flexible tone. A free outbreathing forms the foundation for the tone; mouth and lip positions also contribute to tone formation. Half-steps are achieved by lightly covering half of the specially formed finger holes. Permanent tone block. 440Hz. Note range: d''-e''-g''-a''-b''-d'''-e''. Accessories include a cleaning swab, fingering chart and a cotton muslin flute storage bag.

It is recommended the tone block be removed and oiled or replaced each year. This is often the recorder (or flute) recommended for First Graders in Waldorf Schools. It was specially developed for use by young children 4-6 years old.
